How to get your T-mobilitat

Download the registration form,, fill it out and bring it to a FGC Customer Service Center (CAC). T-mobilitat has many customer service points, both its own and in the usual offices of some transport companies. Check which points they are and make an appointment at the one that is most convenient for you.

The FGC T-mobilitat app for Android and iOS phones now available:

  • If you have an Android phone with NFC technology, you can buy tickets and load them onto your T-mobilitat card. In addition, it will allow you to access public transport directly using your phone. For €1, you can also download the electronic wallet app, which will allow you to validate tickets directly with your phone, on the different transport services.
  • Phones with iOS will be able to manage and buy tickets. The validation feature will be available at a later time.

Integrated transport tickets in T-mobilitat

The new T-mobilitat system and the conventional system with paper tickets and magnetic stripe, will both be accepted until there is a definitive transfer to the new platform.

10-trip single-person ticket integrated in all modes of transport. It allows to you to do up to three transfer validations during 1 h and 15 min after first validation.

Must be accompanied by a valid official identification card of the holder. (Bonus to 50%)

The use of the T-jove transport card is upheld throughout the validity of the card, even if the user has turned 30 during such period, as long as documentation is provided as proof that the user was under age 30 when the card was purchased and at the time of its first use.

Personal, non-transferable ticket for members of single parent and large families of a general category aged under 30 years of age, for an unlimited number of integrated journeys on 90 consecutive days. It allows travel between the 6 tariff kronor at a single price. The ticket must be accompanied by official means of identification (identity card, residence card, passport) and the single parent or large family card.

Provided that documentation is provided to certify that, at the time of buying and first stamping the ticket, the holder was under 30 years of age, the holder can use the T-jove while it remains valid, even if he or she turns 30 during this period.

The T-16 discounted ticket is now available in the new T-mobilitat format, allowing for contactless validation on all transport modes within the 18 municipalities in zone 1.
The T-16 is a discounted ticket for children, between the ages of 4 and 16, which, in the new T-mobilitat format, will cost €4.50.

2. Online payment and receiving the new card

The new format of the T-16 card will cost €4.50, similar to other T-mobilitat cards, although the ticket itself will still be free.
Children will receive the T-16 card by certified mail to their home address, within 10 business days from the time the application was received and the information verified.

1. You can block them and load them onto a new format, once purchased and activated. The validity is maintained.
2. If you are the parent, relative or guardian of a minor or dependent, you can manage their cards and transport tickets with T-mobilitat. To register the person in the system, you must request an appointment in advance and do it in person at a T-mobilitat Service and Information Centre (CAC). Once registered, the dependent will be assigned to your account and you will be able to manage, on their behalf, requests for cards and ticket purchases.

How it Works

The new T-mobilitat system gives you flexibility, as it allows access to the entire public transport network – initially within the metropolitan fare zone – with a single rechargeable smartcard or mobile app, both using contactless technology. It offers convenience, because you can make a multitude of transactions, purchases and queries via the website or the mobile app. And it provides security, since the support (smartcard or mobile) is more robust and durable than a conventional cardboard ticket, and allows you to recover any travel passes you have paid for in the event of loss, theft or damage.

 To enjoy all the functionalities of T-mobilitat and have access to the card or the mobile application, you must first register on the platform.

If you are not yet part of T-mobilitat, you can do it in two ways:

  • Online
    1) Register as a user: you must have a digital user to manage T-mobilitat.
    2) Access to the purchase of support and transport tickets: you can apply for your card and you will receive it by post, activated, with the ticket loaded and ready to travel.
  • In person at the new T-mobilitat Information and Assistance Centre (CAI) or at FGC customer care offices (CAC) , you will be able to take your device (rechargeable card) already loaded with the transport ticket of your choice.

There are two types: a rechargeable smartcard – the T-mobilitat card – to which you can top up the usual range of transport tickets; and a mobile app – the T-mobilitat app – that allows you to carry an electronic wallet of transport tickets on your mobile phone. Both use contactless technology and are independent of each other, which means that tickets on your card are not also available via the app, and vice versa; you would have to make a separate purchase for each support in order to have the same ticket on both.

Your T-mobilitat card should be delivered to the registered address within approximately 10 days. If it does not arrive within this period contact to 012 or 93 121 53 65.

Yes, but only with the permission of a responsible adult (parent or legal guardian). In this case it will be the parent or guardian who manages the T-mobilitat account for the minor, who will be linked as a user of the account.

For a few months, the new T-mobilitat system will operate alongside the conventional magnetic ticket system and both can be used. Once the T-mobilitat system is consolidated and fully implemented, the magnetic ticket system that we have been using until now will be withdrawn, and T-mobilitat will become the standard system of access to public transport and mobilitat in the Barcelona area.

Using the system

If you travel with Ferrocarrils, you can now get to ATM zone 6 with T-mobilitat. With FGC you can use T-mobilitat at all stations on the Barcelona-Vallés line and now also at all the stations on the Llobregat-Anoia line, with transfers with the other operators in the 36 ATM municipalities that already have T–mobilitat.

Vehicles and stations throughout the network are now fitted with new contactless access systems, alongside the validation machines that we have been using until now, which remain operational. To use a T-mobilitat travel pass, simply hold your support (smartcard or mobile) near the panel with the “contactless” icon. And remember to always carry a valid official identity document, to be able to prove that the ticket you are using is yours.

No, not at the moment. Initially, only personalised travel passes can be used with T-mobilitat, which means they are linked to the user’s personal data.

If it is a standard fare ticket, such as the T-usual, you will have to pay a minimum charge to the operator who has imposed the penalty to unblock the ticket. If it is a subsidised ticket, such as the T-jove passe, which require accreditation and offer discount travel, in addition to paying a minimum charge, you must also submit a written request in person or via the form available on this website, providing justification for unblocking the ticket to the ATM, which is the competent authority to grant or deny the request.

Yes, it would be the same as if you were travelling without a ticket, since the proper functioning of the mobile phone is the responsibility of the user. Therefore, an inspection team could impose a minimum charge. However, you would have 48 hours to appeal the fine and prove that you made that trip with a validated ticket, which would be registered in your travel history.

On the rail network (Cercanías and FGC), yes, if the stations on your route allow it, as some stations do not have exit validators, only entry validators. On the metro, tram and bus networks, you are only required to validate on entry, as is the case now.

Yes, the transfer system will be the same: you will still be able to transfer between different means of transport (metro, tram, train, bus) or different lines during one hour and 15 minutes after first accessing the network, without it counting as an additional trip. You can do this a maximum of three times.

If you have blocked a card or pass yourself, you can unblock it, as long as you have not already requested a duplicate. This can be done through the Personal Area of the website or the mobile app, or in person at a customer service point. If the event that your T-mobilitat account is blocked due to a fine, or if you do not know the reason, please contact us through one of our customer service channels.

The technology on which the T-mobilitat system is based is highly reliable. However, in the event that your support ceases to function, you may request a duplicate credited with your existing travel passes, at any customer service point throughout the network that provides this service. This duplicate, considered a replacement, will be free of charge if the support stopped working for a reason beyond the user’s control and is under warranty. If a support is not under warranty or has been damaged by the user, the standard charge will apply. In any case, valid travel passes from a damaged support will be transferred free of charge to the new support.

If your card is damaged after you have validated a travel ticket, and you are therefore already making your trip, go to one of the on-site customer service points located throughout the T-mobilitat network and request a duplicate card.
Alternatively, if your card is damaged before you try to validate a ticket, you will not be able to access public transport. In this case, on the rail network you will have to obtain a provisional replacement ticket from the station staff and then go to an on-site customer service point to request a duplicate card.
Duplicate cards are free of charge if the original support stopped working for a reason beyond the user’s control and it is under warranty. If the support is not under warranty (5 years) or has been damaged by the user, the standard charge will apply. In any case, valid travel passes that were on the damaged support will be transferred to the duplicate.

In the event of loss or theft of your support, you can block it to ensure that no one else uses it (via the website, the mobile app, or in person at an operator’s customer service office. If you later recover your support, it can then be unblocked.
If your support is not recovered, you may request a duplicate, at the standard charge for a new support. Once you have requested a duplicate, however, the previous support can no longer be used if recovered. Even so, while you must pay for the new support, any valid travel passes that were on the previous support will be transferred to the duplicate free of charge.

If your T-mobilitat card is lost, stolen or damaged and you need to request a duplicate, this must be done in person at a customer service point where duplicates can be done.

The rechargeable T-mobilitat smartcard can be purchased at the T-mobilitat Customer Service and Information Centre (CAI) or at FGC customer care offices (CAC). You can also purchase it online, via the T-mobilitat FGC website. It costs €4.50, can be used indefinitely, and carries a 5-year warranty.

Yes, you can purchase a rechargeable T-mobilitat smartcard and have the mobile app running at the same time, but they work independently, as separate supports that are not linked.

Tickets can be purchased via the T-mobilitat app , and at the customer service offices of the different transport operators. There are also ticket machines located throughout the network that are enabled for T-mobilitat purchases and top ups.

Yes, for a period of time, the new contactless system and the existing magnetic ticket technology will operate concurrently, until the magnetic system is completely withdrawn. During this time, you will be able to buy conventional magnetic tickets, even if you are already signed up to T-mobilitat.

You cannot return or exchange a T-mobilitat card you have already purchased, but you can use both a T-mobilitat card and the mobile app concurrently without a problem. Indeed, the two supports can complement each other. Remember that they will function independently, as two separate supports that are not linked.

T-mobilitat is sent disactivated to strengthen the security. You will need an activation PIN and activate it before using it. There is only one travel pass which is sent already activated: T-16.

First, you need to check the activation PIN on this website by beginning a session in your personal area. You’ll find the query button in the “Support management” section.
When you have your PIN, you will be able to activate the card in two ways:

  • Via the T-mobilitat app, if you have a mobile phone with NFC: read the card with the phone, enter the PIN and bring the two items close together again.
  • In a network ticket machine. Bring the card close to the machine’s reader, follow the instructions for entering the PIN and bring the card close again.

Download the FGC T-mobilitat app (Android or iOS) and use your mobile phone to manage your supports, travel passes, trips and much more. We are working to offer you the iOS-devices version. Meanwhile, you can travel with T-mobilitat smartcard. Moreover, if you have an Android phone with NFC technology, you can access public transport by validating your ticket from your mobile phone, thanks to the contactless system. To use your mobile phone as a travel card to access the public transport network, you will have to purchase this feature within the app at a cost of €1.

The nominal fee for the service covers a small part of the production cost of the smartcards and the technology that allows you to use your mobile phone to access public transport and carry out many other transactions. At the same time, it means you have a support that is much more durable than a conventional cardboard ticket, and also offers many other advantages.

If your device runs the iOS operating system and has NFC technology, you can download the T-mobilitat app but, for the moment, you will not be able to use the validation function on it to access public transport. You can still buy tickets and automatically top up them to a T-mobilitat smartcard, carry out other procedures, get service status updates in real time, and find the best routes for your trips using the Transport Information System. If your device does not have NFC technology, you will also not be able to use the validation function to access public transport. Very soon, you will be able to top up tickets to your T-mobilitat card.

If you purchase a ticket in person, from your mobile via the app (with NFC technology), or from a ticket machine enabled for T-mobilitat, you can use it to travel by public transport as soon as you have topped up it to your T-mobilitat smartcard or the virtual card on your mobile phone.

NFC stands for Near-Field Communication. If your phone does not have this technology, you cannot top up a ticket purchased on your phone to your card by holding the two near to each other. We are working in a system which allow you to recharge your card, it will be available very soon.

Tickets and fares

No. All ticket prices and fares are those approved by the Board of Directors of the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (Metropolitan Transport Authority – ATM) for the Barcelona area on an annual basis.

Initially, with T-mobilitat you will be able to use the T-casual, la T-usual and la T-jove (also FM/FN) and T-familiar. Implementation of the full range of tickets will be progressive.

Within the new system, users are assigned a specific profile, based on their characteristics and any documentation presented, which may grant access to subsidised travel. For example, users under 25 years of age will be automatically assigned the Youth profile, allowing them to purchase the T-jove travel pass.

If the ticket is as yet unused, you can return it without any problem for 24 hours after the purchase. If purchased digitally, this can be done through your Personal Area, in the tickets and supports section. To return a ticket in person, you must visit a customer service point of the operator from which you purchased the ticket, regardless of how you bought it (in person, from a ticket machine, online, or through the app).

Check the status of your tickets in your Personal Area on the website or in the FGC T-mobilitat app. You can also make a query by phone or in person, at a customer service point, or by using the new query machines installed in buses. Ticket machines enabled for T-mobilitat throughout the transport network also provide options to consult the data on your card.

Yes, in the Personal Area on the website or app you can review, digitally, the record of receipts and invoices for purchases linked to your T-mobilitat account, and download them. You can also request any receipt or invoice at the T-mobilitat Customer Service and Information Centre or at the different transport operators’ customer service offices.
